Soda Kiln Building with Louis Katz and TAMUCC students Documented in stop frame animation. Will use it for recruiting at NCECA. A How to video. Do it yourself. Comments?
Thanks. I would do the bracing on the front differently. I have made the same mistake before. The brace across the top interferes with the stacking of the door. The kiln is holding up well although we work it hard. I love the? burners.Thanks.

Fantastic! I can’t decide wich I like better… The kiln or the video. Nice job on both! ? 5 stars:)

Yes, They are also designed to be used at normal temperatures. Flush against a floor three bricks thick is way hotter than room temperature.
1. In salt kilns I have seen these blocks deteriorate apparently from heat although possibly from heat and salts. I believe that this is a? more sound way of using these bricks in this application. Although the probelme can also be addressed by making sure there are open channels between bricks.
Your use may vary.
Thanks

Great video! Where was that magic when I? built my soda kiln? As I recall it was a lot of work, but very satisfying at the same time.
If anyone wants plans for a downdraft soda kiln (could be glaze kiln too) see my website. Search “Cuzick” I also do not warrant it, but it works for me and SDSU.

Very cool? magic bricks! Where is TAMUCC?
RoadEasyGentleman Said,
This is our new soda kiln. It was built in 2006 for about $5500 making use of several hundred used brick among the new ones. If you would like the ordering sheets let me know. The corner supports are a real nice way? to do things if you only have welding at a remote location. Your results may vary.
